PAD Sponsored Dog Walk – Sunday 18th November 2007
Paseo Maritimo Fuengirola
Forty PAD supporters chose to make a 6 Km walk along the length of the Paseo Maritimo with their own dog or with a dog from the PAD shelter. Assembling in the car park of the Castillo at 11am they set off at intervals in beautiful sunshine knowing that by completing the 6 kms they would raise money from their sponsors to help PAD.
The dogs all joined in to the spirit of the occasion with excitement and anticipation. They loved meeting new people and greeted walkers and dogs alike the sort of wholehearted enthusiasm that we humans just cannot match ! The walk presented no problems . This remodelled Paseo is made for walking and that´s just what we did bringing smiles to the faces of other surprised strollers.
Halfway point and time for a drink – the dog refuelling station. We won´t show the walker refuelling stations in case certain walkers might feature too often!
Among the dogs we have to mention a special little girl. Pretty is not young and has the handicap of having lost her left front leg probably in an illegal trap. Pretty likes a good walk and loves company so she is determined to come along. What´s more her friends particularly from Finland have sponsored her for a great deal of money if she makes the distance. The answer – a kiddy push chair which she loves. And we can report the Paseo is 100% push chair friendly from beginning to end and so Pretty completes the course to applause from her (by now) many admirers. Pictures of Pretty, the other dogs, the walkers and of the Paseo of Fuengirola will now be seen all over Europe and beyond by thousands of animal lovers.
